General education, not advice

Everything on Lendmira is general information for US consumers. It is not legal, tax, financial or credit counseling advice, and it is not a recommendation that you borrow, take a particular loan or deal with a particular company. Your situation, your state and your lender’s contract all matter. For advice about your own case, talk to a qualified professional, such as a nonprofit credit counselor, a HUD-approved housing counselor for home loans, or an attorney licensed in your state.

Sometimes the right answer is not to borrow at all. Our pages try to show that too.

Lendmira is not a lender

Lendmira does not make loans, approve applications, make credit decisions, check credit or service loans. When you use the rate check, we pass your request to lenders and loan brokers working with Lendmira. They decide whether to contact you and what to offer, and any loan is between you and the lender. Licensing and disclosures explains how to check that a company is licensed.

Rates and figures are examples

The rates you see on Lendmira describe the market, not an offer to you:

  • Average rates come from public data, mainly the Federal Reserve’s G.19 consumer credit release, and are dated on the page that uses them.
  • Rate ranges by credit level (for example, 12% to 20% APR for good credit) are indicative ranges for unsecured personal loans. Many borrowers are offered rates inside them, but your offer can be higher or lower, or you may not be offered a loan.
  • Examples with names of loan types and dollar amounts are illustrations built to show the math. They are not real people or real offers.

Only a lender can tell you your rate, and only its written disclosures and contract are binding.

Calculator results are estimates

The calculators work out payments, APR and interest from the numbers you enter, using the method on How the calculators work. A lender’s figures may differ because of fees, payment dates, rounding, insurance or other terms. Check your lender’s Truth in Lending disclosure before you sign.

Laws change

State and federal rules on rates, fees, payday and title loans, debt collection and old debts change, and courts interpret them. Our state pages summarize the rules we found in official sources on the date shown, and Law and rate changes logs changes we track. A summary can never cover every exception. Before you act on a legal point, confirm it with your state’s regulator or an attorney.

How we are paid

Lendmira is free for you. Lenders and loan brokers pay us for rate requests. That payment does not change what our articles say or what our calculators show. How we make money explains the details.

We link to government agencies, statutes, lenders and other sites so you can check our facts and learn more. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they say or do. A link is not an endorsement.

Your decisions are yours

You are responsible for the decisions you make with the information on this site. Read every offer in full, compare the APR and the total cost, and never pay an upfront fee to “unlock” a loan. If something seems wrong, see our guide to loan scams.
